TrackIR, SmartNAV Windows Functionality

Post by vectre1 »

Hi.. I am a potential customer, and I have been reading the forum for a little while now, but there's one thing I'm still unclear on. I am interested in and will probably buy the TrackIR, but I dont know if it will work with windows applications too, or just games.
If it works with Windows, then what is the point of buying the SmartNAV? Its more expensive. I guess I'm just looking for clarification on the differences in functionality in Windows between SmartNAV and TrackIR.
Thanks for your help.

Hello:

I would point you over to this thread:

Yes, the trackIR will control the mouse in Windows and you can click via Hotkeys. The smart-NAV is more expensive, but you do get more features for cursor control and you also get to use trackIR software, so you get the best of both worlds. Hope this helps.
