I was just sort of getting the hang of this thing (smart nav) and now it's not working at all.
The problem was that I didn't like it minimizing to the taskbar, and wanted it to run just like any mouse driver. So someone suggested using the TrackIR driver because it minimized to the tray. Better than nothing I figured.
So I d/led it and upon trying to run it, it says "USB error: The system cannot find the file specified."
What file? Wouldn't it make more sense to say which file is missing? Or are we supposed to just guess?
After trying several things, I uninstalled everything. I even went to the hardware manager (I used win2k) and removed both track ir and smart nav from the hidden devices.
So I should have been to a point just like I was before I got this thing.
So I installed the latest smartnav driver and get the SAME error.
What file is missing? How do I fix this?
"can't find file" What file?
Re: "can't find file" What file?
I just tried unintalling the 2.2 and went back to the older 2.14 and it's got the same problem.
there is no green light on the device. it's like it's not even plugged in. (but it is)

Re: "can't find file" What file?
are you by chance running under Win XP and/or a Soundblaster Live?

no, Win2K. I finally got it working.. had to manually remove everything and start all over. But it did work finally.
