What hardware is required for synchronising exposure between Azure Kinects and OptiTrack Prime 13W setup

Post by bradleymocap »

Does anyone have experience with synchronising the exposure timing (to avoid interference) between an OptiTrack setup (Prime 13W) and multiple Azure Kinects? I need advice on the hardware required for a research study.

Microsoft's official documentation on this topic states that a trigger signal must be delivered to the master kinect via 3.5-mm audio cable (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure ... amera-sync) under the section "Using an external sync trigger".

The esync2 hub looks like it fits this purpose (https://optitrack.com/accessories/sync- ... g/esync-2/). However, the only sync out ports are "General Purpose digital outputs". I'm not exactly sure what type of port this is. Can this go to 3.5mm audio with an adapter? Or am I looking at the wrong hardware on the optitrack side?

Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.
