Detection ranges for small markers

Post by ColinJones »

Hello,

I'm looking to track a number of relatively small objects (~10-15cm) in a volume of 6m x 4m x 3m.

The ranges that are given for the cameras are all for 5/8 inch markers. Do you also have data for the maximum range that a 4mm marker could be seen by each camera? (I'm primarily interested in the prime range of cameras)

On relatively small objects, getting several markers on the object means that the markers will be close together. Do you have any data on how far apart the markers must be in order to be uniquely identified?

Thanks a lot for any help and / or experience with these types of setups! (or links to other posts that cover this topic - I was surprised to not see any)
