Flex 13 camera orientation

Post by MikeDoherty »

Does anyone know if the orientation of Flex 13 cameras is important when used with Motive 1.5? I understand portrait/landscape orientations for optimizing field of view. Is Motive able to compensate for cameras that may be rotated around the view axis at angles other than 0/90/180/270 degrees?

Hi MikeDoherty,

Motive 1.5 is quite old, and earlier versions of Motive did not handle varying orientations well. In general, Motive is able to accommodate any camera orientation.

I think you will be ok with your version, but if you do struggle you may need to update. The calibration algorithms in the current versions are more robust than they used to be.

Best,
Steven
