Error with exported FBX motive files

Post by magarf »

Hi,

I have tried the Optitrack unity plugin and the data streaming works perfectly well with both a rigid body and skeleton.
However, what I want to do now is to use recorded Mocap in motive as an animation in unity. The exported FBX files always have errors and are not working properly. The main problem is always with the configuration of the avatar (the different bone markers). Would you please let me know how can I solve this?

Best,
Maha

The best way to solve this issue is to use an animation retargeting plugin. Avatar retargeting tools such as Repro, IKinema, and Mixamo allow you to take existing motion capture data and map it onto an avatar within your Unity project. These tools can help you adapt motion capture data to an avatar with a different configuration, allowing you to use motion capture data with any avatar you choose. It is also possible to create an avatar that matches the configuration of your motion capture data and then use the retargeting tools to map the motion data to the avatar.
