Hello,
We are planning to record full body motion. We would like to place the markers directly on the subject skin using double-sided tape.
We are wondering if other people has done this before and which are the best markers for this purpose.
We are thinking about purchasing reflective markers 5/8'' semisoft because in the marker photograph (http://www.naturalpoint.com/optitrack/s ... cking.html) they have a small black base which will increase the surface in contact with the double-sided tape.
What would you recommend?
Best regards

This is certainly doable through use of our markers and marker bases, however you will need to select and provide your own adhesive.
Alternatively you could use one of our full body motion capture suits and marker kits designed for use with them, which are available on our web site, here:

I'm interested in the semisoft 5/8'' markers but the marker bases you show in your web for 5/8'' markers are velcro bases.
I'm looking for a hard base for your 5/8'' markers. I'm attaching a picture with the type of markers I'm looking for.

If you do not have this type of base which one from other vendors would you recommend?

You could also get a quote from the manufacturer of the markers and marker bases directly, which is 3x3 in Canada, the email address is info@3x3.ca
They provide the markers that Naturalpoint uses and can customize them to whatever specs you need. I have a client in Spain who uses the markers for biomechanics, and they recently got a quote to make markers with a custom base to attach directly to the patients skin via double stick tape. Essentially, they replaced the velcro base with a rubber base so that they could then place doublesided tape on that base...

You might want to check out http://www.mocapsolutions.com/products.html
I've used their markers and adhesive skin patches in situations when I could not use my MoCap suit and markers from NaturalPoint.
The skin patches are nice because they use the same adhesives as are used in bandaid type products and held well and did not cause irritation.
