ghost markers while Skeleton setup

Post by spencer »

since i use r100 v2 cameras,
i very often have ghost points while doing the skeleton setup.

at the point where it comes to record the actors t-pose,
we most often see like 3 markers on the front of the foot.
(but there are only 2 attached)

of course we tried dark dull tape, different shoes, socks,.. but it still tends to see 3 markers on each foot.

it would be great if we could just like delete the obviously ghost-markers on the screen.. but the software doesnt let us do that..

so the software changes between 34 and like 38 found markers.. and its hard to find a frame with a valid pose while the software sees only the wanted 34 markers.

does anybody else had similar issues ?

any tipps on how to go against this ?

thanks!

Hello!

How many cameras do you have, and how are they set up?

If you would like us to review your motion capture data, send a sample pt2 file, a cal file, and a skl file to support@naturalpoint.com.

Its the typical 12 Cam hexagon setup in a Big White Room.
Upper cams at about 2,8meter height, lower cams at about 1,4 meter.

Sample Data wouldnt tell you much,
because when we do capture the struggle of recording a actors t-Pose has been solved allready. (After trying for sometimes up to 1 hour..)

we try different shoes and such, set groundplane to various directions so the t-Pose recording can be tried facing different directions.. etc

the Problem is that marker count jumps above 34 in 90% of the time.
most often because of the 3 markers on each Foot-front, where only 2 markers should be seen.

With the similar setup and r100 v1 cams we didnt have this prob..

Actually, sample data would be very useful, if nothing else so that we can evaluate your camera aiming and calibration, as those can be very large factors in this type of problem.
