I read a lot about the TrackIR before ordering it and still waiting because of the clippro shortage. I really hope you redesign the joint that breaks so frequently.
I also read that it is hard to impossible that if you turn your head to align the body to the newly found target lets say in Arma. Naturally you would turn your body to your new head position. In flight sims this must be easy as the turning is slower but people write that aligning the body in FPS games they overshoot or undershoot the view. Also the head is in a wrong position after realigning. So you would have to go back with your head and look for the target again.
My idea would be a quick unnatural centering with the head that would leave the view there and make the game realign to the target.
Not sure if this works but worth a try?
