Camera Placement on 55" TV? Solved

I was able to place camera on top of 32" TV and it was fine, but just upgraded to a 55" TV and it is way too high to pick up head movements.

My work around was to use a pipe flange as a base with a 14" wooden dowel rod inserted into it, then the camera is attached with velcro on top of the dowel.

I place it in front of the screen and from my POV I place it right of the center of the screen. That way it is not in the way of the runway, it actually becomes almost invisible in front of the large screen and there is so much other stuff to focus on it almost isn't noticed.

The height of the camera allows for very accurate head tracking in all axis.

I was wondering if there might be other possibilities.

Later when back at the house I will post a pic.

Placing the camera at the bottom of the screen was way too low.

Tilting the hat mount up or down decreases the accuracy of head tracking.

Duh, my tower is to the left of my desk and TV, so I tried placing the stand I built with the camera just off the left of the screen and viola, it works perfectly and the whole screen is clear.

Perfect.

The next thing I was going to try was mounting the camera on a mic stand behind me, wearing my cap backwards, and reversing the axis'.

But now I won't have to.
