A couple of basic questions about trackIR dev

Hi! I just ordered my trackIR, and I can't wait to get it! However, I've noticed from the forums that it only works in games that have a mouselook or that are specially programmed to allow it. I've had a little experience as a C++ programmer, and I was thinking of (after getting the product and playing with it for a while) perhaps trying to see if I could try to extend its use a little. The answers to a few questions would help me know whether or not to get my hopes up.

First, is the SDK limited to commercial publishers, or can other programmers who want to experiment with different types of uses (non-commercial, of course) or implementations get it from you?

[Edited out second question as being a bit premature. I'll wait until after I can play for a while and see if the SDK is readily available before I worry about it]
