TrackIR not showing in device manager.

Hi all.

Got a new PC today and i can't get my track ir 4 to work, its got a dim red light but that's it, no beep boop from pc when you normally connect a usb device, it works fine on my old pc.

Tried latest driver, reinstalls, also tried looking in device manager to see if it's there as unknown device but nothing there either, it's like its not even plugged in.

Mr Smith,

Hmm, that is an odd one. If the PC doesn't recognize it at all, it is likely not getting any power. That can be an issue on the new machine, or it can be an issue with the TrackIR. Does it still work on your old PC?

Yes it does work on the old pc, there is a faint red light showing however so it's getting power, it's done this a couple of times before and my previous two pcs but it was such a long time ago i can't remember what i did to get it working. :(

Hi again, ok this is really weird but it just powered up and started working again, was sat reading a website and suddenly heard the beep boop and it came back on.

About 6-7 years ago it did a similar thing but took a week to come back on.

I guess it fixed it's self but i have no idea how, seems like a seriously delayed detection.

Interesting, I've no idea why it would do that, but let's not question it or mess with it while it is working. Let me know if any other problems arise with this unit.
