Hello. I have a TrackIR4 that I purchased a number of years ago that has sat unused for about a year. I just got a new windows7 computer and wanted to use it again.

I plug the main device into a usb port, and windows loads the drivers and states that the device is functioning properly.

I downloaded version 5.1.3 from the website, clicked on properties and selected run as administrator, and then installed the software.

When I open the software, no device is recognized. The red light is on, and the blue light blinks occasionally.

What steps should I take next?

Does the camera appear in the device manager?

Yes, it is in the device manager as TrackIR4

Try downloading and installing the TrackIR 4 software, found here.

You shouldn't need to uninstall TrackIR5, they can exist simultaneously.

Is it properly recognized in 4?

I installed the version 4 software. I opened it, and then tried connecting the camera. Still doesn't recognized it.

Then I tried connecting the camera first and then the software, but when I double click on the software icon the program doesn't open.

Tried restarting the computer. Opened the software first, connected the camera and still not recongized. When I went to close the program, I got the program not responding error.
The TrackIR is still in the device manager.

Also, my new monitor is 3D ready and I have Nvidia 3D with IR glasses installed. Is this a problem?

Is there anyway to check if the camera is functional without opening the software? Any other ideas on what next?

The best way would probably be to see if you can install it on another computer. Would this be possible?
