TIR4 not tracking on new computer

Post by Sabre57 »

TIR4 worked great on my previous computer. After installing and reinstalling several times it's not tracking at all. Here are the particulars.

Symptoms:
No issues with the install of 5.2.2 and 64 bit drivers
Camera detected and S/N listed
Blue led flashes intermittently
4 red centered leds are not illuminated
Using trackclip
Green led not illuminated and no tracking data
Pressing the pause key lights up red led

System:
I5 CPU, 16gb memory
GTX 660 GPU with 3gb memory
Win 7 64
TIR plugged into USB 3 port.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sabre57,

If you switch the software to display the camera what do you see? Is it catching anything at all?

Nothing at all. I even turned down the light filter threshold to 30 and still nothing.

Sabre57,

Will you please remove the current TrackIR software and then install an earlier version? I'd like to make sure it isn't an install issue.

Please test it with this version - http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... .Final.exe

No joy.

- I uninstalled 5.2
- Used CCleaner to address any registry left overs, nothing found
- Rebooted
- Installed 5.1
- Same exact behavior as before
- I did a search for TrackIR in the registry. Not that I know what I'm looking for. I did see
references to both TrackIR 5 and 4. The TIR 4 entries were device, expected this, and device
driver entries. This probably doesn't mean any thing negative just thought I'd mention it.

Sabre57,

I wish I could have done more, but once hardware is the fault. There isn't anything we can do from here. I'm glad I could help.

I have a similar problem. I have a Trackir4 and the ball cap track-clip that was working alright this morning (although a bit jittery in ARMA3), but then it stopped functioning. Windows 10 Education recognizes as Naturalpoint: TrackIR4 (under device manager). There is a faint red/orange light (solid) at the top of the TIR4, and the lower blue light blinks every 5 seconds. However, when I run the 5.4.1.26786 software, the green light does not come on, and next to "Device", it says, "No device detected."

I reinstalled the software, and still no joy. Please help.

*Note: I installed the same software, and tested it out on my old Windows 7 laptop, and everything works find there, so I don'think there is a problem with the TIR4 hardware.)
