Help!

I just received my TrackIR 4, and I'm having some issues.

The unit installed easily and works very well when I change the profiles and settings. However, when I start fs2004, the game is not detected. I have tried changing the profile assocated with the game and setting exclusive load to the default profile. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all software components (several times) and just the USB drivers.

I'm really confused and would love to play with my new toy. I was first concerned of a hardware issue, but the hardware seems to work fine...it just won't detect a running instance of fs2004.

I should also mention that I downloaded the newest software version off of this website and have a steady green light on the unit.

Thanks!

Firstly, does the blue light turn on? It's the light at the bottom of the TrackIR. It should come on when you are in the cockpit of the plane.

Second, If the blue light does come on you need to make sure you are in "Virtual Cockpit" mode otherwise the TrackIR functions will not work.

Looks like you turned off this setting:

Ensure that the notification messages in FS2004 are turned on. The notifications appear in the upper right corner in red when switching to the virtual cockpit. The setting is found in your fs9.cfg file located by default in:

c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
[Main]
HideInfoText=0

That was it. Thanks for your help!

BTW, was that in the docs and I just missed it? If not, you might want to add it to the FAQ.

Thanks!

It's actually in the tips and tricks section on our website for that game.

Rick,

The blue light does not come on in the VC. I sent some screenshots to the support email address to further illustrate what's going on with the software too...
