New TrackIR 4 not working - rFactor/NR2003

I have been searching forums with no luck on a solution.
I received my TrackIR 4 last night and followed the setup steps. I have WinXP Pro, installed the software and hooked up the device in a USB port (no hub).
Read in the Help system how to assign a profile to a game and assigned the default Racing profile to rFactor. Started up rFactor and I get no lights but the 4 red dots on the front of the device, doesn't recognize movement in game. Shut down, uninstalled and reinstalled and followed all setup steps again (with necessary reboots). Still the same.
So I tried NR2003, assigned Racing profile to it, started NR2003 and get the green light at top of device and blue light at bottom of device but no movement detection in game.

Other details:
-USB device is working properly in Device Manager.
-Tried 2 separate USB ports, no hub.
-Clicking on the profile, and viewing head movement I get no response for Heads view or guages view, but do see the 3 green lights moving in Tracking window.
-Start rFactor, Current Game = None and Current Profile = Default profile with game running.
-Start NR2003, Current Game = NR2003 and Current Profile = Racing but when I go into game, no response, blue and green lights on front were lit, but no movement in game.

What am I missing? I have the correct version of rFactor (1.070) and NR2003 (1.2.0.1).

update: while playing around with the games to document my problems, NR2003 works all of a sudden... ??? Go figure. But still have issue with rFactor...

Hi mate.
Are you playing the demo of RFactor or the full game?
TIR is not supported in the demo.

Full game purchased online and patched to latest version...

Funny but I did a Google search for TrackIR, rfactor and found a thread on this forum that I didn't find using the forum search...

The answer is on this thread:

It is the HWplugin setting in the controls section of rFactor...

Didnt think of that as mine defaulted to TIR after the patch.

Mixed bag Toady about defaulting after the patch, mine did not.

Mine did for default for NR 2003 Season (the Papy one).
