I just recieved my TrackIR4 and after installing the software, rebooting, and then plugging it in, windows (XP) produces a stop error while installing the drivers, specifically NPUSB.sys.
Error as follows:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0zA31A14FC, 0xF78E2AB4, 0xF78E27B0)
NPUSB.SYS - Address A31A14FC Base At A319F000 Datestamp 4371FA3d.
Any help would be appreciated, as I've pretty much exhausted the forum search with no results.

Cant' install driver NPUSB.SYS Stop Error
Re: Cant' install driver NPUSB.SYS Stop Error
Well it seems as if the problem is solved and everything's working great now. I don't exactly know what resolved it, but who's complaining:)
Thanks anyway,

Re: Cant' install driver NPUSB.SYS Stop Error
since i have the same problem with my new TIR4, i'm really interested, how you solved the problem.
Re: Cant' install driver NPUSB.SYS Stop Error
generally this is seen in a USB overload setup. Try moving USB ports on the system, using an external USB hub (self powered) or an internal USB add-on card.
Re: Cant' install driver NPUSB.SYS Stop Error
thank you very much for your reply. i changed the usb-port and it installed fine now, and works also very fine.
i run windows media center edition 2005, so if anyone have that, it works!! =)

Good to hear it is working for you.
Re: Cant' install driver NPUSB.SYS Stop Error
I've got exactly the same thing. Yesterday after dling the latest driver, I got the following salient info from a blue screen stop error after plugging in my trackIR3.
then again today deleting the latest driver(remover software) and reinstalling. As soon as the message that "this driver has not been approved..." I clicked "continue anyway"...and BOOM!....BSOD!!
last error message I got was:
stop 0xc0000007e (0xc0000005,0xb9e1b534,0xf7937aac,0xf79377a8)
npusb.sys
address b9e1b534 base @b9e19000, datestamp 45776c47
when I reported the error via Winxp error reporting, I got a web site saying:
"Problem caused by Device Driver
You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer.

Generally this is seen in a USB overload setup.
1 - Try moving USB ports on the system.
2 - Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers, and motherboard bios installed.
3 - Use an external USB hub (self powered) or an internal USB add-on card.
