"The attached camera is not supported"

Post by Wizard »

Hi !
Ive a very bad problem here.
My HW:
Board: MSI 865PE Neo-3 F (MS-6728)
(AmiBiosV. 5.3)
CPU: P4/550 ; 3,4 Ghz (Prescott)
RAM: 2x 1024MB KingstonHyperX
(KHX3200ULK2/2g)
3D : Gainward 6800 Ultra
Sound ext.: SB Audigy 2 NX
OS: WinXP+SP2+Updates (ive installed all updates, and then the driver 41028)
TrackIr4Pro+Vect.Exp.(044940)

Today, i played lockon, and game crashes. I jumped into win, and in trackir4 software is "No device detected"...i remove all components of the software and registry entries. I reinstall the software 41028 but with no effect. When i try to start the software, following massage appear: "The attached camera is not supported"...but it works for ca. a month...:/ ...ive had the same problem earlier...and the regfix fixed it, but when i start regfix now, following massage appear: No devices detected that needed to be fixed.
...what should i do now ??

Plz help !

P.S.: Sry about my bad english :/

Wizard your English is fine.
Try a different USB port and see what happens. Using a different port reinstalls the driver in effect as the ports are different.
Good luck.

Thank you, for reply !
It makes no difference, if i change the
usb-port. Same Problem with all my usb-ports.
"The attached camera is not supported" :/...
PLEASE HELP !

...today i reinstall my WinXPSP2 with all updates (like before...and it works for over a month)...then ive installed the TrackIr4 Software 41028 again, reset and plug in the TrackIr4. After Win boots up, the massage "New Hardware found...NPTrackIr4"..and asks for installin driver components...i do so, an meanwhile this, my PC shut down (but i disable "automatic restart", so i get a bluescreen with following error:

Stop 0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0xAC9834FC,0xF78D2AB4,0xF78D27B0)

npusb.sys - Address AC9834FC base at AC981000, DateStamp 4371fa3d

What could it be ?

Is there a german support anywhere, because my english is not so good ??

The TrackIr4 is ca. a month old, and i htink i ve already quaranty for this, or ? Where i must send my old (defect?) one, to get a new ?

...ok, when i execute the regfix the massage "1 Trackir found- 4 fixes ..."dont know the rest sry ^^...now i can install the drivers complete (without shut down)...but allready "No Device detected" or " The attached camera is not supported"... :/

Unplug TIR

Switch off your P.C.

Plug in TIR

Do you currently have a web cam installed on your PC?
Or have you ever had one installed?

There maybe some old driver fragments laying around in the registry or corupt files which are being called by windows instead of the TIR...

If you have, then uninstall the web cam and reinstalll the TIR again drivers/software.etc.

Can you roll back to an earlier configuration of Windows to see if that clears the problem?. Make sure that the TIR is installed with drivers/software before you roll back.

I dont have a webcam.

The TrackIR4 is defenetly defect.
I tested it on a 2nd PC, with same error.
I write it a post before, I COMPLETE REINSTALL WINDOWS.

Nothin helps.

Now I wait for an answer from NaturalPoint (and wait, and wait...3 mails..no answer...nice support :/ ).
