yea just adding my 2 cents in here, the 29 version hangs when closing. Never happened in the 28 version. I recommend it to get fixed, but I'm going back to the 28 version.

I guess you haven't fixed the problem yet with version 4.1.030?

My TIR4 Pro came today (Feb 12, 07) and while I have managed to set it up OK for my flight sims I too am having problems with the software hanging when trying to close. I either have to wait for the windows message window to say the program is not responding or I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get to the task manager and then kill the TIR software.

Unfortunately I can't find the v28 release that the OP said worked for him so I am stuck at the moment as it hangs every time I try to close the program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem went away for the first closing but came back when I tried to close the program the second time.

Incidentally I am running Win 2K with SP4.

Any help greatfully received .

My procedure was to uninstall the current version of TrackIR-software, then deleting the X:/Program Files/NaturalPoint folder (or where you have installed the software). Then reinstalling the software again. I'm using the latest version for now (4.1.030). I hope that will help.

Also, what is the file size of the different profiles, in the following folder.

C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles

There should be no file size larger than 4KB here, it there is delete the file.

I checked and I have no files larger than 4kb. It looks like I may have solved the hang problem with v.30 by installing the TIR software in safe mode. I haven't had another hang since then but I have now discovered another problem in FS9 but I will start a new thread for that rather than derailing this one .
