TrackIR broken?

My TrackIR 4 PRO didn't work today, while it worked fine yesterday. No lights come up when plugged in and the device is not detected by the TrackIR software. I've tried plugging it into different USB ports, but none work. Reinstalling the software also did not work.

I fear it might be broken, but perhaps there other things I should try first.

Any help is appreciated.

Try in on another pc and if it works then move it back to the original one and see if it suddenly starts working. Thats what I did! No idea why except maybe a short in the cable.

Have you tried the device on another system?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Hi Vincent,

I do not have another system available to test the device one.

I have tried all USB ports, and they all work with other USB devices, but the TrackIR does not work. I also disabled the power management on all USB Root Hub's, but that did not work either.

Are there more things I can test?
