No the "driver package" is an exe, so i just double click on that to install.
It doesn't matter where (once i've clicked through the two error messages that appear) i attempt to install it, i get the same problem.
There are no folders with the drivers in, the .exe file won't install to get any folders, or drivers.
I think that it is probably an installshield problem too, but no idea what, everything else installs no issue and i have followed the advice of Vincent and removed the driver section (of Installshield) and reinstalled (v6.0) from the website given.

Re: Vista 64 SP1 Installation Problems
I guess what I was getting at was this:
1) Nothing is installed, no folders nothing.
2) Plug in the device and let Vista Detect it
3) Install saying you have the software/disk
4) point the Intaller to the file/folder/software/disk
5) let the installer run
6) When it asks where to put the file
7) Point it to the new folder you created and let it try to install there
What happens then? Same thing? I'm wrestling with a permissions problem on the installer of place it's trying to put the file(s). If other installations work properly, this one should as well UNLESS something stops it from installing the software/driver, hence your error message. What does the event viewer say?

Re: Vista 64 SP1 Installation Problems
OK, the driver install is completely seperate from the software install. There are no drivers to point to, until the software has been installed, as they are installed(uncompressed) when the software is installed initially.
One thing to try, use as a work around -
Install the software on another system, then copy the TrackIR folder to this system.
