No doing so good with Trackir

Post by Dr4 »

Paid for 2nd day air shipped on thursday got it monday, ok 4 day air....

Loaded sofware per instruction, started software cursor was jumping all over the screen could not even abort program, pulled the plug on the trackir unit.
Unistalled software, reinstalled, ok this time cursor not jumping around, checked the software out, set a couple of things, entered game, setup the mouse look, jumped in an airplane and well it is to sensitive and seems to stop then jerk around real fast.
I can not look at the floor of the airplane, Ok so I shut the game down and setted looking for way to change the sensitivity and the program had an error and shut down, this has happened twice.....

Dr4,

If you could e-mail me I would be happy to send you a profile to work in Enhanced mode.

If you are in mouse look then this will be very sensitive, have you set your TrackIR to work in Enhanced mode in this game?

YEs I have set it and I have another problem I wear trifocals and it is almost impossible to find a clear view. Plus I seem to need to move my head at least 30 to 45 degrees to see up and behind.... Just started software and it had an error and shut down, guess I will call and get RMA and return it.....

Sounds to me like you just haven't setup a decent profile.

I had the first problem you had (jumping all over the screen) when I first installed, I just changed to a new profile and made it Track IR Enhanced only, now it doesn't do it anymore.

As for being over/under sensitive, you have to adjust the profile for that.

As far as "sticking" when you are moving around, the unit isn't picking up a signal from your reflective dot/whatever anymore, so it kind of hangs. Make sure your head is always in clear view of the unit and the green light is on.

Dr4,

If you can e-mail me with the error message that you have when this happens we can see where the problem is.

I would be more than happy to help you with a profile.

Dr4,

Hopefully your Event Viewer may shed some light on this error.
If you go to Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer.

On opening Event Viewer if you navigate down the Action tab you will see that you can export the list. Check this list to see if anything was listed for TrackIR, if any error logs have been listed if you could send me that file I will be able to see what may have happened.

I will be able to help you with a profile that will help with your trifocals.
