Has anything new come of this?

I don't play BF2 online (so I don't have to worry about punkbuster, etc...) but I do play LAN on my home network. I love to fly the choppers but I hate flying with blinders on and the mouse look "method" only makes me lose control and crash.

Please, let us know if we should just give up waiting for a real fix. :)
So would we, NY_ATM.
But the developers have basically officially passed as this point.

So we are looking into how we can best share an unofficial mod that someone made which enables TrackIR usage in single player (even though we know everyone would want it for multiplayer). We've been on the fence for a while now as to whether this would even be worth it (as we would hope to avoid being a tease).

More in this in the next month or so, hopefully.
Hi Warren

Id like some update from you about the Unofficial Mod (like the Tech Demo that is very good) even for Single Player only.

Id like to buy TrackIR to use with Battlefield 2 & 2142.

Please share the Tech Demo file(s) for use among TrackIR owners even SP only!!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

i hope ALL are aware that EA/DICE is working on a BF2-patch1.50

http://www.battlefield.ea.com/battlefie ... ryid=23927

It might be a small chance to get into the game finally, and if succesfully implemented maybe into their future product line.

Naturalpoint...it is up to you again. ;)

Sorry for the "OLD" news...i thought i post them here, just in case...

I'm working very aggressively on this front right now. I'm definitely motivated by the opportunity. Nothing to report yet, and potential implementation is not certain, but there is (yet again) a glimmer of hope. :)

If ever there was a time for TrackIR users to converge on a forum en masse, this would be a it. Feel very free to be vocal on BF2's forums. Emails work well too. ;)

That goes for everyone that's been wanting TrackIR support in any of the Battlefield iterations. Just as an FYI, one of the Battlefield producers mentioned in a recent interview that there are currently four Battlefield games in development. So, now would be a great time to chime in. I'm positive that TrackIR is something that's being discussed on their end at the moment.

Could this be made easier for us? Template emails would be nice along with the email addresses of the developer and publisher. A direct link to the forum in which we should post would be great. Maybe a lobby website could be created for this sort of stuff.

Unfortunately, I can't publicly disclose any specific email address. If you go to Dice's official website (www.dice.se), there is a variety of contact information pretty readily available. :)

As far as a form email... we probably won't put out anything official, but I think something very short and sweet should suffice. Something along the lines of "Hey, I heard that Battlefield 2 and 2142 are being updated. Could you please include support for TrackIR in the patch?" If you want, you could then explain more specifically how it could make the Battlefield games more enjoyable.

For forums, I think the best ones to post in would be these:

Battlefield 2 Feedback
http://forums.easports.com/mboards/foru ... orumID=145

Battlefield 2142 Feedback
http://forums.easports.com/mboards/foru ... rumID=3460

Thanks!

I've given up hope on TIR support in the BF games. May I suggest you check out ArmA (Armed Assault)! I love those BF games but now Dice is concentrated on the consoles and the silly Heroes game. Nothing wrong with any of that but they should not forget what put them on the map in the first place.

Either way, hopefully your efforts will get TIR support implemented. It would be a great boom for TIR.
