Optimal Arma Settings?

I was just wondering if anyone has come up with what they think are the optimal settings for Arma. I just got my new IR5/TracClip and want to get it dialed in..... Any help would be appreciated.

Although not exclusively designed for ArmA or ArmA 2, the default profile was created with tactical shooters in mind. It should be a good starting point. You might want to adjust the smoothing down slightly. A good test is to look to the side and up, so your head location leaves the profile's deadzones. Then, adjust the smoothing so it's at its lowest level where you can still keep your view steady in-game (use the 3D Preview window in the TrackIR software to examine this). The lowest point of smoothing that will still give you steady head movement when outside of the deadzones is probably where you want to have that setting dialed in to. For some people, it's as low as 5-7. I like around 10-15.

Beyond that, it's going to be a matter of personal preference. If, over time, you find that your head movement isn't *quite* right with a particular motion, you can isolate which axis/axes should be altered, and tweak the necessary part of the curve accordingly.

You can also hit up some of the guys on the ArmA forums, as many of them are old pros at setting up TrackIR profiles.

I'd like to add a quick tip. I just started using an TrackIR5 with arma and couldn't find much info on settings.

As far as leaning, I found the default settings didn't work very well (x axis) for leaning. Often I wouldn't lean far enough in-game before going outside the tracking range, or the slightest lean in-game would happen to often due to my normal movement in the chair.

Creating a curve with a bit of a deadzone and then 100% speed worked very well. Now once I lean past my normal movement threshhold, the character goes into full lean L or R right away. This make looking around corners much easier.
