Need a Power Switch!

Post by Axe_78th »

Greetings,

I got the new clip for Xmas and like it very much. However you have to unplug it from the USB jack else the LEDs run constantly. A small on/off switch would be nice.

You can leave it plugged in, it won't hurt anything. The power drain for the LEDs is very small, about 5mA. I have mine plugged in all the time, and have noticed no ill effects.

I'm not concerned about the power drain, I'm concerned about the life of the LED's.

They are high end LEDs, I won't worry about it. The life cycle on your average LED is 100,000+ hours, 4166.67 days, or 11.7 years.....
