TrackIR/Clip not seen by Win7/64Bit

Post by Booster »

Hi there,

Been using my TR4 w/Clippro for sometime on my Win7/64Bit without any problems.

Then after removal of the TR4 and reconnect Win7 will not see TR4 anylonger, not even visible in "Device manager" list. No yellow unknown devices either.

It's just like nothing happens...

Reinstalled software and drivers without any luck so Win7 must be in some state where it doesn't see the TR4.

Uninstalling doesn't help as the TR4 is still not being seen as a USB device.

For the record I have used many different USB connections to be sure there were enough power but again it have worked like a sharm until yesterday :(

How can I cleanup registry and the drivers and start from scratch ?

Thanks for any advice,
Booster

Hello,

Have you tried plugging the TrackIR 4 into a different computer? That way you can ensure that its still working properly and helps to isolate whether the problem is with the device or with your computer.

Hey there,

Yes, I have just tried connecting the TR4 to another PC and that doesn't see it either :(
There is light in the top red LED when plugged in.

I'm wondering how come the device just suddenly stops working after being unplugged/plugged in....?

Can the device be in some kind of locked state ?
Not sure how it works but if the device don't answers OS request nothing more will happen I assume.

Previously there was a regfix utility for TR3, do we have one for TR4 ?

Appreciate any help.

Regards,
Booster

Any good

How long have you had the device?

If it isn't being detected in the Device manager, on both systems you are looking at a hardware failure.

Unfortunately it sounds like the device had some sort of failure, during the reconnection/detection/power up process.

Have had it since a couple of month after the TrackIR4 came out.

Did have some USB problems with it though but mainly that was handled by un/reinstall drivers.

How can I find out if the device is broken ?
It have the "red" led active when plugged in USB which mean it gets the power.
Tried all USB on my computer with same result.

Andy advise ?

If you have access to another PC, testing on more than one system can help determine if there is a hardware failure.

I had the same problems when I installed the Beta2 version. However with 5.1 i didn't had the problem. The camera was still visible in the deveice list of the "device manager". There i selected it with the right mouse key and "Update driver"; selected the drivers folder in "Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Drivers". Solved!

I had the same issue after installing it yesterday when I got it. What you have to do is make sure you are not using a USB multiplier. I had it in my multi USP adapter and had the same issue. when I plug it straight into a regular usb port everything works just fine. So give that a try.
