There is no offical solution from us at this time. There are some creative "fixes" to be found out there that are less technical though.

I did not bought Pro Clip instead got the passive, reflector hat clip. This is what i made for my TrackIR5.

Next project is building multiple (10 bulbs or so) IR lights, powered by 120v low voltage transformer, mounted on top of my monitor. This should give a better 'reflection' out of my hat clip.

Presently, i am using 880nm wavelenght, 40 degree viewing angle, 1.5 vdc IR - http://www.digikey.com/product-search/e ... 75-1470-nd

A couple of comments:

- If you're making your own LED tracking clip, I'd recommend using the same LEDs we use in our TrackClip PRO. They're better optimized for the TrackIR imager and have a really wide FOV. You can find them about halfway down the page on our OptiTrack markers page:

- The arrangement of the LEDs has to match the arrangement in our TrackClip PRO as precisely as possible to ensure good tracking.

- The second project--that's for use with the TrackClip, right? Not alongside your home-made LED clip? If you do make a separate illumination source for use with the passive reflectors on the TrackClip, please note that the material on the TrackClip is retro-reflective, meaning it reflects light back to its source with an angular tolerance of +/- 1.5 degrees. So the light source needs to be right next to your TrackIR in order to reflect it into the lens.

Yes, second project will be used for TrackClip. i will keep in mind to put my light source as close as humanely possible with TrackIR5. I will post the outcome of my second project....

Edit: i meant to ask data spec for 'red' LED inside TrackIR5 Imager that emit lights to TrackClip. Since i can see a red glow, i believe it is not irLEd. Could this be a simple 'red' LED?

IR LEDs in the 880nm range have a slight red glow that is visible.
The Siemens SFH485P is commonly used for home made clips.

SFH48P are LED's used in the TrackClip PRO not inside TrackIR imager - 4 LED's where IR brightness can be adjusted under 'Camera ' tab?

I don't think we have a data sheet available for those LEDs, but they are 880nm IR. You can see the glow in 880nm LEDs, just not the illumination they cast.

Okay - Do i need to filter out some of the lights, or wavelenght, just like LED inside TR5 imager?

i could cover four LEDs in the imager and use my home-brew TRpro (880nm x 3LEDs) as a light source above the monitor and see if TRclip would be detected by the imager.

i will run more tests today...
