3-Marker Wand--why 2 sizes?

Post by tvining »

I assume for different volumes? When do you use the small vs the longer arms?

the standard 400mm wand size is good for the volumes on the v100r2 and flex13 cameras.. The larger 500mm wand is for the s250e and prime41 capture volumes.

the even smaller wand setting is for facial mocap volumes..

It's worthwhile to note that while generally correct, there's a bit more to this:

400mm wands were originally sold when 3 marker was released, and only came in the one size. We realized that multiple sizes would help quite a bit for situational wanding, so we discontinued the 400mm wand and replaced it with a 500/250 kit. We leave the 400mm wand in the software for people who still have them, but 500/250 is the standard.
