Very slow frame rate in NatNet Client

Post by ipem » Fri Dec 18, 2009 3:11 am

Good morning.

Using NatNet SDK, I have developed a NatNet client to stream the Arena scene information over the network, which was working fine (all information at 100Hz). After updating the Arena SW to the current version (1.5), my client stopped working properly, only streaming the frame information at aprox. 1Hz.

Any ideas why? Is it a bug in new Arena version? Do I need to update something else? This is quit critical since some research projects are on hold because of this issue..

Many thanks in advance.

The newer NatNet server has been updated, but has been tested against the older NatNet client application.

Does the older client still stream OK?

It could be a conflict within your custom client application, and the newer NatNet?

Hi ipem, Are you streaming over LAN? Can you try running your client app and arena on the same PC and see if you get better frame rate? Also "Skeleton as Rigid Bodies" checkbox should be checked in the Stream tab if your client app is not using the new sSkeletonData struct.
