Low FPS!! 12 100R2 and 2 OptiHub through OptiSync Mode

Post by zxzxx »

we have a twelve camera connect through two OptiHub solution.
The problem is when "Expos" value is lower than approximatlly 30, the FPS is become very very low...
other parameter currently is no problem (Thresh...Intensity.. etc.)

by the way, the 1.5 beta3 and 1.5 final seems have same problem...

A couple questions that might help identify what is going on :

* Which FPS value is being referred to?

* Are these V100R2 cameras?

* Was the same behavior experienced with earlier versions of Arena?

* If reflective markers are being used : how large is your capture volume, what size are the markers and what distance is the subject from the cameras?

* Is any external sync source being fed into OptiHubs?

* FPS is 100, and when the Expos is lower than 30, FPS become maybe..50 40...
* Yes, all v100R2 cameras
* sorry, we use Arena from 1.5 beta3
* the Capture volume is fairly SMALL, the radius is 2~2.5m
* actually, after that problem, we use Cable Sync Mode INSTEAD, and NO Problem at all

i think the problem is pretty strange...why it occur when the "Expos" value change...
we have a new project in a few days, we will do more test and report later

I may be having a similar problem. My old VB6 code works fine with Optitrack SDK r035 and Flex:V100s, but not with:

SDK r035 and Flex:V100R2 (obviously the camera is not recognized)
SDK r037 and Flex:V100R2
SDK r037 and Flex:V100

I haven't had time to investigate, but it does seems the frame rate is not constant. My exposure is under 10. I haven't tried with higher exposure. I am only using one camera and no hubs.

* Can you verify that reflective markers are being used?

* Is sync connected between the OptiHubs, with one OptiHub being the master at the start of the sync chain?

* Do the cameras have correct and incrementing ID values? Are there any duplicate camera IDs?

* Is any external sync source being fed into OptiHubs?

Pls make sure that you're cascading the two OptiHubs correctly. You should connect the Hub Sync Out jack of one hub to the Hub Sync In jack of the other hub.

Exposure should not have any effect on the frame-rate of the cameras.
