Not that I am aware of, you need a minimum of 3 markers to define each of the rigid bodies that compose parts of the body. Why would you want to have fewer markers? Most of the time, people want more.. not less.

Hello,
It's possible to create partially markered skeleton, although tracking result will probably be less reliable. Requirement is to have the 4 waist markers. Please see the following video:
http://media.naturalpoint.com/ftp/npupl ... apture.wmv
With Assign toolbar button selected,
-to remove markers from skeleton, click the assigned markers(gray spheres) and hit delete key.
-to add new markers to skeleton, click the bone, then click the new marker(white sphere) while holding Ctrl key.

Unfortunately, the video was uploaded to a temporary space on our site, and is no longer available. Look for an arena manual to be released within the next two months.
