Hi people
one question, weve just set up our full motion capture system for the body after working for severall weeks with the face system, now we have a doubt, can we have cameras connected with the usb 2.0 extenions without delay in the acquisition?
the studio its not gigantic but still we cant connect directly all cameras wihtout extensions.
we got 2 from natural point but we're thinking to get 4 more.
thank you

Alessia

There can be up to 1 5m a-b cable and 2 5m extensions between the computer and the OptiHub, for a total of 15m. You can not use extensions between the OptiHub and the individual cameras. For those cable runs you should have only a maximum of 1 5m usb cable. The reason behind this is that the OptiHubs supply a large amount of power to each camera (larger than USB standard) to adequately run their high powered mode. Extending the cables beyond 5m causes an out of tolerance voltage drop due to line length (additionally, active extension cables can increase this voltage drop by consuming power).

To maximize the capture volume size with 12 cameras, I would recommend putting the optihubs on opposite corners of the volume and running them from there. If you need to create a larger volume, it is possible to get a 3rd optihub and use 4 cameras per hub.
