Optitrack S250e + tracking tools --> dlp link issue

Hello,

I have a 4 s250e camera package with Tracking tools.

As I am using this setup in a cave with dlp link stereo, I noticed some infraread perturbation created by the camera (every 30-40 seconds the dlp link signal is lost).

I guess this is a frequency issue between the camera and the dlp link projector.

I would like to know if there is an option in tracking tools to change de camera frequency so that it could stop perturbing the dlp link signal.

Thank you for your answer.

Best Regards

Hello -

What stereo goggles system are you using?

Currently, supported models are:

Stereographics
NuVision 60GX
NuVision APG6000

If you are trying to synchronize to another model of system, you may have issues. Additionally, synchronizing an S250e system with external devices will require the use of an eSync unit, which is not currently on the market, but is in the final phases of development and should be available soon.

Thank for your answer.

However those glasses are pretty old ones and are using an emitter.

I know that stereographics even stopped to sell those glasses and now only offers DLP link glasses.

To go back to my first question: is there anyway to change the infrared frequency of the camera?

I ask this question because when i was using vicon bonita cameras there was this kind of option and it was working fine with my projectors and glasses.

Frequency as in burst timing or frequency as in light wavelength?

If you are referring to the burst timing, it is possible to adjust the framerate, however you would need to have the synchronization device to get this exact. Many people have luck with Continuous IR mode to turn the bursting off which will eliminate the interference, but provide less light for tracking. Another option is to use IR LED markers instead of reflective markers, and turn the camera IR LED ring off entirely.

If you meant the wavelength of the light, no there is no option for this.

Hello again,

Thank for your answer.

Where can i change the burst timing?

You talk about a continuous IR mode but i can't find how to active it in Tracking Tool. Could you tell me how to set this option?

Thank you so much.

To switch to continuous mode, expand the "camera groups" option in the project manager, then select your camera group, right click, and select properties. The first set of options in the camera group properties pane should include one for continuous/strobed IR.

Hello again,

I did what you told me and here what i have in the camera group properties:

Camera Settings
-Exposure
-Thresholds
-Illumation
-Video Type
-Frame Rate
-FilterSwitch

and that's all no options on changing the IR...

I am using the 2.3.2 version of tracking tool if that can help...

bye

Update tracking tools to the latest version, 2.3.4 beta. This version will expose the "illumination type" control for S250e cameras.
