Streaming unlabeled markers

Post by Pixerati »

I may have missed this somewhere else, but is there a way to stream out of Motive the location of markers that don't belong to a marker set or a rigid body? Could I do that by depacketizing myself?

I want to manually identify the position of markers in real-time based on their known proximity to rigid bodies, but I need to get them out of Motive without making them members of a skeleton or rigid body first, since their location is–as far as Motive is concerned–arbitrary.

Never mind: found the answer in the fine print at the bottom of the page in the sdk user guide.

For those who are as bad at reading docs as me: any triangulated marker is included in the frame of mocap data in addition to the labeled sets.

I meantime got the thing working and wanted to leave a note about the reason for the problem: I originally placed the NatNetClient on the stack instead of the heap. That compiles and also works somehow, but has these weird effects. Since the object is on the heap, everything is working fine.
