Hello everyone,
We just recently got our new OptiTrack system and are learning how everything works. We are interested in streaming data over VRPN client to a drone which is going to fly inside the system.
The question is, is it possible to connect the Motive computer to a router using WiFi and stream out the data or is it necessary to make a wired connection between the Motive computer and the router?
VRPN streaming over WiFi
Re: VRPN streaming over WiFi
Yes it is possible to stream by being connected to wifi pr even a local LAN network (would need to time sync all devices on this network). It all depends on the setup, does the drone have an onboard computer? If so, then using wifi and a ROS network could work. Or through another connection.
Re: VRPN streaming over WiFi
Yes the drone does have an onboard computer.
The motive computer which is being used only has a single network card, meaning it can't be connected to the cameras and the router using ethernet cables at the same time. Therefore, I was considering if a second network card needed to be installed or if a simple WiFi adapter would work for it to communicate using LAN.
