natnet streaming protocol

Post by jmrb2002 »

hello, firts of all, sorry for the bad english:

we need the tracking data on linux machine, so one option is a streaming in the windows server and the linux machine as client.

we have not only rigid body but marker data (we have some fixed bodies and some free points).

because we have marker data doesn't attached to a rigid body, we can't use vrpn streaming (is it true? documentation speaks only about rigid bodies, not markers).

So the other posibility is to use natnet, but the sample codes are for windows, because they need compiled libraries.

the packets data is in the documentation but not the communication protocol.

How is this protocol? the idea is to make a connection from the linux machine and hearing the UDP/TCP packets comming from the rigid body streaming tool in windows machine

thanks in advande
