TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
Greetings
I'm thoroughly enjoying the product. One issue though:
When I am running FSX whether in a flight or not, if I try to close TrackIR5, I get the closing clients message, and it just hangs. Even when I end the process in task manager, there are still 2 green lights showing on the camera. If FSX is not running, the application closes without issue. I have to unplug and replug the camera. Any help here?
-TrackIR5 with reflectors
-5.1.0.300 final
-TrackIR5 is run elevated (this happened before running elevated as well)
-Windows 7 64 bit
-FSX with Acceleration

Re: TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
The hang on exit issue is known, and a fix is in progress for the next release (along with an installer fix for Windows Vista/7)

Thanks GFD for posting the problem and to NaturalPoint-Mike for acknowledging that you are working on the problem. Do I understand correctly that after the fix it will not be necessary to unplug and replug the camera, which on my system initiates a reinstall of the TrackIr software each time? It also causes me at age 65 to crawl under my computer desk each time and unplug and replug the USB cable, which I would like to avoid if possible.
Thanks again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Re: TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
Trailboss - what version of windows are you using?
Re: TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
Windows XP with SP3. The TrackIr software reinstalls are no longer occurring, so that seems to have resolved itself, but I do have to unplug the USB cable and plug it in each time or the software doesn't recognize the device.
Another question: should TrackIr be started before starting FSX or after starting FSX?

Re: TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
The TrackIR software should be running before starting FSX.

I have a question related to this statement.
I am curious. Is there any method to force TiR4 to "see" FSX after FSX has
started and for some reason TiR4 "missed" seeing FSX start up?
I occasionally have a scenario where I have started TiR4, started FSx, and then flew for some time.
I then shut FSX down but left TiR4 running. A bit later I restart FSX and get into flight only to find
that TiR4 didn't see FSX start the 2nd time.
This can be a PITA when I'm going into a multiplayer session
and then have to exit the session, FSX and TiR4 and then start
them in order again...TiR4 then FSX.
Lately I have been trying to remember to un-minimize TiR4 to
look at the screen to see that it "saw" FSX but I'd rather not
have this additional step since the issue only crops up occasionally.

Re: TrackIR5 Flight Simulator X
Unfortunately there is no way to force it to see FSX once it has started. This is due to the method that FSX and other games detect and connect to TrackIR.
It should pick up TrackIR if it was left running, however.
You mentioned that you are using TrackIR 4? Have you tried installing TrackIR 5 software and using that?
