Roll causing pitch at 90° yaw and reverses past 90°

Post by MikeJP »

Hi .. I just started using my trackir 5 again after not using it for some time and unsure whether this is normal or not.

Using the first person orientation with in the trackir UI, when I yaw to the 90 or -90 position onscreen then try to roll it instead causes pitch movement.

Also the Roll axis reverses when yawing past 90 and -90 (Rear hemisphere of yaw)

So say your centered looking forwards then roll your head left so the horizon is now leaning like a backslash '\' then yaw as I reach 90 yaw the roll levels and reverses once past 90 so the horizon now resembles a forward slash '/' even though I still physically have my head rolled to the left.

I've noticed that trueview translates leaning forward and backwards into the correct axis orientation depending where your looking. This is working as it should but is it also supposed to correct this roll movement ?

I will play around with this tonight and try to recreate what you're describing.
