micro stutter

Post by jmoog »

Hello,

I've recently bought trackir 5 pro package from ebay for ETS 2 and been having this issue with split second stuttering when panning. I've read through all sorts of forums to configure the software but to no avail. I've installed XP, 7 pro, 8 pro, trackir software versions 4 - 5.2.2. I went so far as to change motherboard thinking it was usb issue. The fps is stuck at 59.9 vsync but when panning to look at mirrors, one moment it's smooth, next pan, it micro stutters - pan again it's smooth; it's very random. I have no issue with mouse panning at all and it's naturally synced with game's fps.
I've tried X3 AP to see if it was the ETS 2 itself but same thing occurs there.
In the software itself there seem to be no stutter that I can see, even with both game and trackir software open. Also no light bleed from any other source.
It's been a hair puller for a week since day 1... totally ruining immersion factor.
Could this issue be TIR hardware related?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

jmoog 've got exactly the same issue: on several racing games (R3E, iRacing...) when I pan left/right there are some micro stutters and then the next time no more stutters...

Could it be a driver issue?

I'm running the TrackIR 5 software with the TrackIR4 device, Windows 7 - x64

If you have any advices it will be nice.

Thanks.

OlivierMDVY,

I suggested that he disable v-sync to see if that was the cause of the issue. I am unsure of the result though, because it was never reported back. I was unable to recreate the issue here myself. Would you be able to send me the specs list from your computer?

Ok here are the specs list:

CPU: Intel i7 860
RAM: GSkill DDR3 8gb
GFX: AMD Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X - driver v14.12 WHQL
OS: Win7 - x64
Mobo: Asus P755D-E PRO
TrackIR 4 + TrackIR software v5.2.2

I don't know if you want a very detailed specs, if yes I will generate a report from CPU-Z or other software.

I've fixed my issue:
Vsync enabled and frame limiter@59fps

Don't ask me why it works but it's fine now.
