Hello,
My trackir stopped working recently and I noticed the wire is damaged near the USB plug.

I tried to rewire it higher along the cord with another USB plug but it does not work!

Please can someone tell me if I have the wiring order right ? I think I got it wrong somewhere!

Looking from behind and above the plug toward the PC USB port I have:


| RED | WHITE | GREEN | BLACK |

And the last wire (only metal no color) I taped it to the USB plug metal frame

I don't have the wire diagram for the TrackIR but you may still be under warranty. We would be happy to check your warranty status if you could submit a ticket at help.naturalpoint.com.

Unfortunately, It is not under warranty anymore!

So I am stuck with a repairable trackir which I will never be able to use again!
I would just need the wiring order for the 4 wires and it would be fixed!

Giving the extreme fragility of the USB wire near the plug (a friend of mine also has the same problem), there is no way I see myself buying another TrackIR 5 unit to see it malfunction again. I think you should really reinforce the wire near the plug!

Would you possibly still have that wiring diagram on you? I searched, and you popped up. My dog gnawed through the cable, and I need to patch in another USB, but as you know, the wiring order is unknown now.

Are you able to send me the wiring map as well for the Track IR 5?

Have experienced the same with former Track IR 4 where it suddenly stopped working. Problem was connection when connecting USB = cable was not ok even if no damage outside.
Based on that issue I purchased the Track IR5 that I have had some years now before it started with the same.
It can suddenly lose connection, and when moving/touching it the connection comes/goes. Pretty sure it is the cable.

Best would be if I can get the wiring ok again since rest works great.
