Option to crop sensor area

Post by Rongor »

Many TrackIR users suffer from degraded TrackIR performance during the "golden hours". Keeping the sun out of your room is not always possible.
Considering that in many cases the actual motion of the reflectors won't exit a specific zone inside a much larger total camera sensor area, would it please be possible to crop the sensor area in our profiles within the TrackIR software?

This would be such an easy fix and help so many people out there. The usual distance to the camera ends up with the area of importance being way too small within a huge portion of the sensor range open to collect disturbing random light spots.

Cropping the sensor are to the red box would be a simple solution in my case.

Hello Rongor,

Thank you for your suggestion! I have passed it along to our development team for consideration. In the meantime, you can try a combination of adjusting the Light Filter Threshold and blocking out as much sun as possible. You may also consider using the TrackClip Pro as it may work better in conditions with too much IR light.

Kind Regards,
