Beta version crash

Post by UgoRipley »

Hi.
I installed new Beta version 5 yesterday, without first removing the older version.
I saw that the install was creating its own folder "C:\Programmi\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5", so I let it do it.

It crashed every time I tried to launch it.

So I removed version4, removed Tir4 from System hardware properties and rebooted pc.
Installed version5 again, but still same error on launch (the box where Winblows asks you to send details about crashed applications to M$).
It starts drawing the new main interface window, but it crashes just afterwards.

I am on XP SP3, TIR4 Pro with Trackclip.
The latest version 4 works without problems.

I'll pass it along to the dev team, and we'll investigate.

Yes !
Beta 5.02 up and running ! Awesome new interface. I'm gonna try it in-game in 5 minutes.

Edit: I spoke too early, I had to fire up version 4 to fly with IL-2 1946.
Anyway, Beta 5.02 still crashes very often on launch, but not always, at least I can see the new interface and fiddle with it. The "camera view" looks smoother than before. Still too buggy to be used for me.

Here comes the installog.txt

What OS are you using?

Just to report that, after proper unplugging TIR4 and uninstall of Beta2, reboot, registry cleaning, and install of Beta3, nothing changed.

Application still crashes upon launch :-(

Software is crashing without the camera plugged in?

Using either the 5.0 software, or the 4.1 software?

Have you tried closing all other applications in the background?

tested various things...nothing seem to work.
sometimes (pretty rare) trackir 5 starts up and works....but then the next time it won't.

waht makes it even worse is, that the trackir 4 software is not working proper with my trackir 5 cam!
the Status switches very fast from "tracking" to "no data" at the bottom of trackir4 software.

now i got a brand new trackir5 and cant do anything with it :(

/edit: tried it on a fresh windows xp installation: it seems to have something to do with the profiles. if i dont change anything i am able to start trackir5. if i change anything...create a new profile, it will crash the next time i start it.

/edit2: it seem to run better with compatibility mode on. windows NT compatibility works for me. i can even edit profiles...now it sometimes crashes when i close trackir 5.
