TrackIR software 5.1 Final now available - Updated

A new release of the TrackIR 5.x software is now available for download. We invite you to try the software and are looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks for the update. The installation went smooth, only problem I encountered was that the Trackir device was not recognized after install. Doing an "update drivers" from the device manager solved it.
Looking forward now to installing new ATI drivers!

Does not work with my computer. I had stilll use the old fix method, copying earlier version of atioglxx.dll to TrackIR5 directory.

Stupid question, but does these new beta drivers also provide 64bit support as it is needed for the DCS Series? As it seems in the ED Forums, so 64bit support is not yet working, is this correct?

The current 5.1 beta does not have support for 64 bit titles since that feature needs a little more work. We are hoping to include it in the next beta though.
After we release 64 bit support then current 64 bit titles/games will also need to release updated versions/patches using our 64 bit SDK before they can read the TrackIR data.

I have been checking out your site almost weekly in hopes of seeing work on 5.1 and today I was rewarded.
I am Sooooo excited about 5.1 as I am still using the TrackIR3 and never really did like the version 4 software.
I installed 5.1 on my Win 7 Pro 64bit machine with no problems what so ever.
IT LOOKS WONDERFUL, SIMPLY WONDERFUL.
Just in case you did not get that...
Version 5.1 software is... SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!!
I did nlotice that the Precision command does not seem to be working as yet.
Other than that, SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!!

Hi Doc,
Glad to hear you're enjoying 5.1.
Can you elaborate a bit on your experience with Precision mode? We've been doing some tinkering with it, but it should be functional in this build. I want to get it corrected if there's a bug that we're not aware of.

I just bought TrackIR 5 (and Pro Clip). Would you recommend using this beta version or whatever the default version is?
It hasn't arrived yet (not sure when it will even be shipped, I hope very soon)

Hi Zap,
I would recommend the new 5.1 beta 1 software. In the very near future, new TrackIR 5 hardware will actually require this build of software. Functionality for end-users will be the same as previous TrackIR 5 hardware, but we have some firmware modifications in our next run that necessitate 5.1 software to use the product. I'm not sure whether you'll fall into that window, but it would be a good idea to use the beta software just to be sure.

Hi Seth;
The Precision mode seems to do nothing, at least I can tell no difference with it on or off. It did make a big difference with ver 4 software.
Also, changing a Profile seems to make no difference either. I have made some pretty big changes to the profile but see no difference when I look around. It did make a big differencre on ver 4 software.
Possibly the two problems are connected?
