Manually updating the drivers via device manager worked. Thank you for you assistance.

I can just add that re-installing the drivers via the DEVICE MANAGER solved this problem for me.

Good day all. I am a new member who has just bought and installed my trackir5. I also had a virus after downloading the latest driver.However I had also downloaded the updated driver for my GTX285 at the same time so was unsure as to the source of the virus. I refreshed the system, got rid of the virus and reloaded the trackir5 driver only. the trackir is now working fine with FS10 but will not recognise FS9.
Can anyone advise where i should go from here?

I had this problem and it gets progressivly worse. I nailed it down to a slight pinch mark where the usb plug is attached to the lead.
I have since repurchased a new one. A point to watch out for guys.

I'm not necessarily sure that the issue is due to a damaged cord, as it can consistantly connect to FSX but not 2004. It is more than likely a settings issue within FS2004.

I had the same issue with this an my TrackIR device not being detected. i tried everything suggested the only thing that worked for me was reverting back to an old TrackIR_5.2.beta.02 an now it's works fine i have Win7 HP 64 bit installed.
