Ah, now, that is VERY interesting. Thanks - I'll strongly consider it.

*Goes off to attempt to squeeze yet more stuff into his rather tight budget*

Hi guys, I'm looking at the plugin in motionbuilder, can I purchase a licence?

If not when is the release date?

All the best
Burroni

PS are the new S250e cameras backwards compatable with the V100R2's so I can mix and match?

Hey Don/Hogan. The MotionBuilder plugin isn't quite for sale yet. I think we're looking more toward sometime in later September, to coincide with our tentative hardware release.

Unfortunately, the S250e will not be backward compatible with the V100:R2. We wanted to make it happen, but with the cameras running at different frame rates, we don't feel that we can guarantee optimal results if they are mixed together. In order to ensure that everything works as intended, we're making a clean cut between the two models.

how many S250e cameras will you need in order to make a complete system? What will be the "rule of thumb" for the capture volume of these cameras?

No backwards compatablity!!!, A sad day for optitrack V100:r2,

We don't have any numbers yet on when it's worthwhile to make the switch (after, say, so many cameras or above a certain budget, for instance). We're still conducting internal testing, but as release closes in, we should have more information on this.

The S250e will be compatible with the versions of ARENA and Expression that will be released alongside the camera. Users with an up-to-date software license should have access to that build, though we haven't formalized how license-transfer will be handled for those users with a license tied to an R1 camera.

Hi Don,

The VCS:Mini and both the standard and Universal MotionBuilder plugins are now available for purchase on the web site:

http://www.naturalpoint.com/optitrack/p ... sight-vcs/

The Maya plugin and the VCS:Pro are still in development.
