point of origin

Hi,
I am working with TrackIR 5 and the OptiTrack 2D SDK.

The documentation states that the point of origin is in the upper left corner as we are used to in image processing. On my TrackIR 5 system, the point of origin seems to be in the upper right corner. I tested it with the sample code from this web page (OptiTrack Sample App). When i move to the right x values decrease. I didn't change anything in the sample code and it doesn't offer to mirror any axis.

Is this normal behavior on TrackIR 5?

Yes it is normal for a physical object moving left from the device's POV to have its reported X value decreasing. The lens causes the image to be horizontally flipped.

Thanks a lot for the insight. Just to be clear, did I misunderstand the documentation of the OptiTrack SDK (Chapter 3.9) or is it faulty? Personally considering what you have said here, I found it misleading.

Cheers Bastian
