V120:SLIM frame rate issues

Post by pro.bhat »

I recently upgraded to V120:SLIM from TrackIR5 and noticed that the camera sdk was not capturing frames at 120 hz.

I was using camera sdk version 1.1.3 and I noticed in the change log for version 1.1.5 the following fix:
"Fixed some V120:SLIM cameras operating at incorrect frame rates"

So I downloaded the latest final version - 1.1.6. This did not seem to fix the issue.

Then I tried 1.2 beta and that fixed the issue.

A couple of questions:

# Why is my V120:SLIM not running at 120 hz on 1.1.6?

# Is 1.2 beta stable?

# 1.2 beta has changed the dll/lib files names. There are version with suffixes 2005/2010, S/D, 64/. Just to be sure what are the differences between 2005/2010, S/D, 64/not-64?

# Even on 1.2 I cant set the frame rate to an arbitrary number between 1-120. The camera only seems to run at 30, 60, or 120. Is this expected? frame decimation seems to work for values up to 9.

# Camera.Name() returns a string with the model type and a number. Is this number unique to every individual camera? I want to use it to name the calibration files associated with a camera.

Thanks.

Can you compile and run the frame rate example in the latest Camera SDK release? I'm interested to know what frame rate you're getting via the latest and go from there.
