E-Sync external sync signal type

Post by sanscart »

Hi,

We would like to feed the E-Sync module with an external signal to sync cameras. Which input can be used voltage wise if our sync signal is on a RS-232 cable ?

Thanks,
Remi

Hi Remi,

Thank you for posting. Do you know the voltage of the source of the signal?

it is RS-232, so I think it is -12 V to +12 V.

Dear Sanscart,

The RS232 spec also allows voltages higher than this. We recommend measuring the voltage of the signal on a scope to be safe.

Our recommended approach would be to run their RS232 signal into a RS232 level shifter, and connect the output of the level shifter to the Isolated input of the eSync.
