Capturing images and display 3D model

Post by Alexandra »

Hello community,

I have 2 Optitrack camera and i use sync cables, I want to reconstruct 3D tracking data using Unity 3D but without using Motive Software (I'm beginner in this domain).

It's nearly the same of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bbEZDhXk2A ,
I have tags that i put it up to an object or person and the construction of the model 3D will made by Unity 3D. Any Idea how i could achieve this project objective?

If there is anyone part of the community that has done this as well any guidance will be appreciated!

Thanks for your support

Best Regards,

Alexandra

Hello Alexandra,

In order to achieve what is shown in the YouTube video, you would need our Motive software. Motive allows you to calibrate the cameras and to perform the 3D tracking. Other software, such as Unity, are not able to do this.

Once you calibrate the system with Motive, you are able to stream the 3D data to Unity using our plugin.

In addition to Motive, you would need several more cameras. Technically, you could get away with very simple body capture with a minimum of 6 cameras. We really recommend a minimum of 8, however, as this provides better results. With 2 cameras you would be limited to rigid body tracking.

Best,
Steven
