Hi all,
What I'd like to do (which I can do in Vicon) is capture the motion tracking at the same time as presenting a .wav audio file - i.e. start motion capture at the same time as starting sound presentation. Can this be done within Motive (by loading in a wav file) or does anyone know of a different way to do this please?
Thank you!

Hello jberger,
Motive is able to record audio, but it is not able to playback audio.
Unfortunately, there is no simple way to set this up. Any solution would require some development using our NatNet SDK or listening for Motive's recording triggers.
Best,
Steven

Thanks for the quick reply Steven! I'll have to figure another way then. Does the recording of audio sync with the motion capture? And can the recorded audio file be exported from Motive? This might allow me to posthoc sync the data.

My pleasure jberger,
The audio recording will be in sync with the Take as you are hoping.
After recording, you can export the audio to a WAV file.
Documentation for the audio recording can be found here.
If you need any more help with this, feel free to reach out to us directly for further assistance.
Cheers!

Re: Record motion capture at the same time as presenting sou
Your help is very much appreciated Steven. One other question - the minimum distance between two markers I seem to be able to track is around 4cm (I'm usually using the 4mm hemispheric markers, but I did also try smaller ones). We really need to look at two markers that may be only 3cm apart. In the camera views, it is clear that the two markers are separate, but in reconstruction it either sees just one marker or (if they're even closer together) none. Is there a setting I could change to allow for reconstruction of markers that are closer together?
All the best!
All the best!

You can try lowering the Object Margin and Intrusion Band settings. Both of these deal with filtering out the 2D data.
You can find more information on this in our documentation. Hope this helps!
